General support vector representation machine for one-class classification of non-stationary classes

چکیده
Novelty detection, also referred to as one-class classification, is the process of detecting ‘abnormal’ behavior in a system by learning the ‘normal’ behavior. Novelty detection has been of particular interest to researchers in domains where it is difficult or expensive to find examples of abnormal behavior (such as in medical/equipment diagnosis and IT network surveillance). Effective representation of normal data is of primary interest in pursuing one-class classification. While the literature offers several methods for one-class classification, very few methods can support representation of non-stationary classes without making stringent assumptions about the class distribution. This paper proposes a one-class classification method for non-stationary classes using a modified Support Vector Machine and an efficient on-line version for reducing computational time. The presented method is applied to several simulated datasets and actual data from a drilling machine. In addition, we present comparison results with other methods that demonstrate its superior performance.

Abstract: In disease gene identification and classification, users are only interested in classifying one specific class, disease genes, without considering other classes (non-disease genes). This situation is referred to as one-class classification. Existing machine learning-based methods typically use known disease gene as positive training set and unknown genes as negative training set to bu...
متن کاملFeature Selection Using Multi Objective Genetic Algorithm with Support Vector Machine
Different approaches have been proposed for feature selection to obtain suitable features subset among all features. These methods search feature space for feature subsets which satisfies some criteria or optimizes several objective functions. The objective functions are divided into two main groups: filter and wrapper methods. In filter methods, features subsets are selected due to some measu...
متن کاملUsing Wavelet Support Vector Machine for Fault Diagnosis of Gearboxes
Identifying fault categories, especially for compound faults, is a challenging task in mechanical fault diagnosis. For this task, this paper proposes a novel intelligent method based on wavelet packet transform (WPT) and multiple classifier fusion. An unexpected damage on the gearbox may break the whole transmission line down. It is therefore crucial for engineers and researchers to monitor the...
متن کاملA new classification method based on pairwise SVM for facial age estimation
This paper presents a practical algorithm for facial age estimation from frontal face image. Facial age estimation generally comprises two key steps including age image representation and age estimation. The anthropometric model used in this study includes computation of eighteen craniofacial ratios and a new accurate skin wrinkles analysis in the first step and a pairwise binary support vector...
